the Reality, the Love, the Defeat, the Bass, the Addiction, the Bubbles, the Escape, the Knight, the Quaint, the Lady, the System, the Passion

This is going to be one hell of a global controversy.

The movie's released 3 days ago and Live Leak had to bring it down, due to "threats" to their staff. No surprise there. But noworries easypeasy one can always rely on YouTube.com =D

So I heard about it from my mother, she was telling me about Fitna the Movie, it's your normal average 15 minutes edit footage mini-documentary thingamajic BUT the film attempts to analyze "Islamization."

And this I can never understand. Why is it that terrorism is inevitably linked with Islam when the Zionists and the Americans are guilty of them too? This is bias talkcock to the extreme really, thanks to Samuel Huntington too and his whole Clash of Civilization simplistic bullshit and now we have smart asswipes who think they can come up with documentaries that depict the true essence of Islam. I don't get it, how come we Muslims hardly criticize Jesus and the holy trinity while these buffaloes deem it "freedom of speech" when they draw religious cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (especially the infamous caricature of Muhammad S.A.W and a bomb on his head).

Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician, produced 'Fitna the Movie' with the main intention to not stir up racist sentiments in the Netherlands (right ~) but instead to show how Islam opposes "democratic advancements."

Fitna hence reflects his interpretations of Islam and the Qur'an:

And he had the cheek to say THIS will not stir up anti-Islamic and racist sentiments? What happened to people respecting other people's beliefs anyway? I know its not as easy as it sounds, I mean who are we kidding, even in Singapore, the racist sentiments are subtly high. But this is outrageous, I mean seriously Wilders, what makes you think you know everything about Islam through popular mainstream media and recent acts of terrorism?

Islam is not changing, it's not even evolutionary in nature. Muslims on the other hand are evolutionary, we have different kinds of interpretations to the verses and the Surahs BUT ULTIMATELY it's always the Westerners who deem it appropriate TO ONLY sieve out and quote the verses that touch on violence against non-Muslims.

That's NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE to understanding the sacred beauty
of the Qur'an and the liberating lifestyles of the Muslims.

Wilders said that the 15-minute film will show how verses from the Qur'an are being used today to incite modern Muslims to behave violently and anti-democratically based on these verses. Wilders has described the film as "a call to shake off the creepy tyranny of Islamization."

CREEPY TYRANNY OF ISLAMIZATION??

Excuse me while I go vomit into my Americanized Levi's pants.

kesian kau. had your dose of redbull already?

eh did you read the comments on youtube? why are some people so defensive? and what's with the religious bashing sia? i is not understanding.

the book i'm talking about is actually a story about african civil war in the 60s, the history of shortlived state of biafra and an interesting insight on different layers of african society. it's history, politics, philosophy, relationships and love, all in one book. a gripping read nehhhh.

me too, i won't even bother to shake my head if he's killed like van Gogh. why can't these people stop banking on terrorism and Islam for popular votes anyway. if i live in europe, i'll love the middle east and not engage in such religious fundamentalist acts, probably eat kebabs and smoke sheeshas, WHY CAN'T THEY DO THAT TOO?

ok confirm google after all my three essays are done by tonight lol.

" karate tengkuknye baru tauuu"
there's only one thing i'd like to say...

Your Prophet, know Him, take Him, put Him in your heart, lock it and throw away the key... that's the only remedy to this age of insanity and bloodlust... that's how Muslims will regain what is meant to be Muslim... and Islam will not be the household name for terrorism... peace will reign and this will not only be a dream...

Re: " karate tengkuknye baru tauuu"
lol @ your subject.

the key is safely locked in another box, so yup, i've thrown the second key protecting the first key. i guess by the end of the day, it's a know-thyself motto, because the world's becoming such a crazy place to live in sometimes it just freaks the hell out of me. it doesn't help that i'm majoring in political science and i'm exposed to all such intricate atrocities sigh.

i doubt islam will not be the household name for terrorism. it's going to stay for a very long time, that generalization, all thanks to Osama bin Laden and kuncu kuncu dia -_-''

i find it weird that some people can just twist and turn the meanings of the verses in the quran. i mean how do they even know the meanings? can they read it?
cet~

i thought people are supposed to know the meaning behind the words holy book- the contents inside are meant to be beautiful and sacred right?

and why oh why does it have to be the holy quran?
sigh...

take care syims, no need to pening-pening kepala about this, go do your essays! =D

Re: hmmmm..
ikr? sigh religious extremists happen not just in Islam, even in other religions they twist and turn their verses. guess it's rather inevitable la, people want to achieve things, so they quote religious words for legitimacy.

lol and i have yet to complete my essays and i'm STILL NOT PANICKING. sumpah me da gila! hahah

sharin here. disturbing video for a monday morning. the 'throats are made to be cut' made me chuckle. even though he did warned viewers that tis is his own views, it's hard to fanthom what caused them to create the video in the first place. i mean, what do you or anyone else gain from this? i still believe that since the twin towers, the world is going to satan in a picnic basket at the rate that we are persecuting each other.

TSP
oh my god. i cant bear to finish watching the entire 15 minutes of that show. i felt like crying because i know that islam is NOT anything like that!!!! oh my god. how can people do this!!!! i mean christianity also has their beliefs on whoever who do not believe in jesus will be condemned to hell what?!!! we dont go quoting that around and say that they're terrorist!!!!

what sickens me most is the "religious leaders" that are featured. gosh. it just makes me question the part where he said "even the stone will tell Allah that there is a jew behind me. and that Allah will cut his throat"..i was thinking..."REALLYY??!!!!"

and the part.."Allah is happy when we kill all the non-believers". masyallah....i do not know how they gathered enough courage to say that knowing that they will have to explain every bit of that in akhirat. eee.really scary.

i may not be a strong muslim...but at least i know that certain things should not be said

Re: TSP
I'M SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY!!

omg i miss you can? =D how are you doing so far??

and actually the film is not that bad la, it's just low quality documentary, i doubt it can even be labeled as a documentary. some of the religious leaders bebual world, it's like religious fundamentalism is too rooted that they hardly hesitate to resort to violence. it's rather sad, but these kind of things, it goes back to incorporating political agendas with religious legitimacy, so one can't really say that Islam dictates us to do things certain way. two way process ah these things, the way Muslims interpret the Qur'an will be observed by the non-believers and they in turn attempt to interpret and generalize us. no fire no smoke what ;)

y'know what, i share the exact sentiments with you, for i'm not a staunchly religious person either, but i do know my limits and boundaries. i'm just surprised there are other people who don't sigh.

p.s you missy, enjoy your weekends aight and by any means if you bump into me outside, i shall reserve you a right to nudge nudge me tau! only for you hor =P

lol, that verse of violence he pick out of context happens to be a historical story..i too can basically pick verses from the bible on how god allows moses to sanction violence to the children of israel etc etc

wilder's is a right wing politician who is using this to gain popularity from his fellow righties who beleive islam is anti-freedom anti-democratic and against everything the western world stands for

the reason why islamic fundamentalism happens to make its surgence ONLY 1400 years later unlike christianity was cos after the iranian revolution in 1979, muslim fundamentalists all over the world saw that an Islamic regime can finally stand up against western imperialism.

but i guess he seems to forget that christianity has its share of bloody history in the past before the concept of seperation of church from state was introduced into the western world.
